Snoqualmie Casino goes live with betting app in Washington

After becoming the first land-based casino in the state of Washington to accept legal sports wagers in September, the Snoqualmie Casino has launched its own dedicated sports betting app for customers.

What this means is, that following expert consultation and development as well as the implementation of geolocation software called PinPoint (owned by GeoComply), visitors to the app will be able to make bets within a geofenced perimeter of the casino premises.

The app will have a number of features available to customers, including betting lines for all kinds of wagers that can be found there, promotions and offers, betting slips plus account information.

What is being expected from the Washington sports betting market?

It is being predicted that over the next five years, the state of Washington could generate $94 million from sports betting in some of the state’s tribal casinos, following a study by Washington State University, with sports betting set to generate an estimated 273 direct jobs in the casinos.

Kahlil Philander, the study’s principal investigator and assistant professor in the School of Hospitality Business Management at WSU Everett, said: “When you think about recreational activities, participation from 14 per cent of the population is significant.”

“Sports organizations and media companies like ESPN and Fox have developed their own national betting brands. Meanwhile, typical gambling brands like DraftKings and BetMGM are all over social media and national television advertising. Washington is just starting to learn what the industry will look like in this state.”

The study revealed that almost 14 per cent of residents in the state are likely to take part in sports betting, which is swiftly becoming one of the fastest growing industries in the US.

CEO and President of Snoqualmie Casino, Standard Le stated: “We are excited to be the first casino to introduce the convenience of mobile sports wagering. Whether it is sitting at their favourite restaurant or slot machine, [visitors] can bet without ever standing in line.”

It certainly appears that Snoqualmie Casino has taken the initiative in the state as they look to become one of the first innovators and difference-makers for customers, to provide them even more convenience.
